Wi-Fi is a wireless network technology based on the IEEE 802.11 standard which allows computers, mobile devices, or other electronic devices can exchange information without using any wires or transmission cables. With implement several different protocols defined by the IEEE 802.11 standard and the required machine-to-machine (M2M) protocols, it is the primary solution for convenience, cost efficiency, and ease of integration with other networks and network components.

Wi-Fi HaLow® refers to products using IEEE 802.11 ah technology. By operating in frequency bands below 1GHz, Wi-Fi HaLow® provides a longer transmission distance with a higher volume of data. It provides a reliable connection in challenging environments where the ability to penetrate walls or other obstacles in low-power connectivity including sensor networks and wearable devices.
